Robert D. Schulzinger

Robert D. Schulzinger, editor-in-chief of Diplomatic
History, is Professor of History and Director of the International Affairs
Program at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he has taught since
1977. He received his Ph.D. in history from Yale University in 1971.
He is the author or editor of twelve books on the history of U.S. foreign
relations and American politics and society. Among them are The
Wise Men of Foreign Affairs: The History of the Council on Foreign Relations
(Columbia University Press, 1984); Henry Kissinger: Doctor of Diplomacy
(Columbia University Press, 1989); A Time for War: The United States
and Vietnam, 1941-1975 (Oxford University Press, 1997), A Time
for Peace: The Legacy of the Vietnam War (Oxford University Press,
2006): United States Diplomacy Since 1900, fifth edition (Oxford
University Press, 2002), editor of The Blackwell Companion to American
Foreign Relations (Blackwell Publishing, 2003), Present Tense:
The United States since 1945, third edition, co-authored with Michael
Schaller and Karen Anderson (Houghton-Mifflin, 2004); and American
Anthem, co-authored with Edward Ayers, Deborah Gray White, and
Jesus. F. de la Teja (Holt, Rinehart, and Winston, 2007). He served
as SHAFR President in 2000. He was a member of the U.S. State Department's
Advisory Committee on Historical Diplomatic Documentation from 1996
