Bruce Field (Northern Illinois) has been awarded a grant from the Minnesota
Historical Society to research the roles that forty U.S.Congresswomen played
in American foreign policy during the Cold War.
John Flynn was named an Archives By-Fellow at the Archives Centre, Churchill
College, Cambridge UK for the fall and winter semesters, 2000-2001. He is working
on a book dealing with the civic activities of German women in the British and
American zones of occupation from 1945 through the early 1950s.
Ole R. Holsti (Duke) has been awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award"
from the American Political Science Association, Conflict Process Section. He
has also been awarded the "Teacher-Scholar Award," from the International Studies
Association, Active Learning Section.
Klaus Larres has been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair for European Foreign
& Security Policy by the Commission of the European Union. The chair is
based in the School of Politics of the Queen's University of Belfast and includes
an annual stipend for teaching and conducting research on European foreign policy
and transatlantic relations.
Wayne Patterson (St. Norbert) has been named visiting professor of Korean
history at Harvard.
Katie Sibley (St. Joseph's) has received research grants from the Kennan
Institute and the Harry S. Truman Library.
