CONFERENCE VENUE
This year’s conference will be held at The Pyle Center, a conference center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and overlooking Lake Mendota. The Pyle Center is operated by the University of Wisconsin-Extension Conference Centers. Free wireless internet access is available throughout the building.

The Lowell Center

Currently the Lowell Center is full for the nights of June 24 and 25. Rooms are still available for the nights of June 23 and 26. Additional rooms may become available for Thursday and Friday nights in the next week or ten days. Check back here for an update or you can call the Lowell Center at the number below to be put on a wait list.
SHAFR has blocked a number of rooms at The Lowell Center, a full-service hotel on the UW campus one block from The Pyle Center and close to State Street. Continental breakfast and parking (one car per guest room) is included.
The hotel will hold our block until May 23, 2010 OR until it is full. Please make your reservations as early as you can.
Rates are $89/night for single occupancy or $99/night for double occupancy.

Doubletree Hotel Madison
Update: the hotel has extended our block until June 1, 2010.
SHAFR has secured a number of rooms at a reduced rate at the Doubletree Hotel Madison. The Doubletree is a short, 4 ½ block walk to The Pyle Center, and provides complimentary airport shuttles and university shuttles on the half hour between 7:30 am and 10:00 pm.
Rates are $229/night for a suite or $129/night single or double occupancy for a standard room.
The deadline for receiving this rate is May 23, 2010. Please note that the hotel is required to honor our reduced rate until this date OR until all the rooms in our reserved block have been booked. Once our block is booked, the hotel will offer rooms at its usual rate, if rooms are available, or may even be completely booked. Please make your reservations as early as you can.
To book a room, go to www.doubletreemadison.com. Enter your dates of stay. On the Dates and Preferences page, go to “Special Accounts” and enter SHA for the Group/Convention Code to secure the reduced rate.

On Campus Housing
A block of rooms in Smith Hall, a new UW residence hall located a five minute walk from The Pyle Center, is also available. Full linen service, daily housekeeping, cable television, and free wired high-speed internet connections are included, and rooms are air conditioned.
Rates are $35.55 per person per night for double occupancy or $56 per person per night for single occupancy. Guests must pay in full on arrival via cash, check drawn on a U.S. bank, MasterCard, or VISA. The deadline for making reservations is May 23, 2010.
Guests may check in as early as June 23 and must check out by Sunday, June 27.
